Breeding them tough in the Mallee

THE saying “as strong as a Mallee bull’ has never resonated more deeply than during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

And now the world will see just how Mallee Tough we really are, through a video to be released by Member for Mildura Ali Cupper on Tuesday.

The video comprises photographs sent in from constituents in isolation during the current Level 3 restrictions imposed by the State Government.

“Mallee Tough was inspired by the New York Tough video which showed that city’s response to isolation measures,” Ms Cupper said.

“We put a call out to people to send in their photos and videos from isolation and have been blown away with the response.

“We’ve collated some of the most powerful images for our video which showcase the strength of our region.”

The video will be launched on the Ali Cupper MP – Independent for Mildura Facebook page on Tuesday night.

Ms Cupper said not every image was able to be used in the video, however the ones that missed out would all be collated and made into a photo gallery on her alicupper.com.au website.

“We really wanted to show our shared experience and tell the story of isolation during COVID-19 in our region,” Ms Cupper said.

“Some of the images and videos are simply amazing. I’ve been absolutely blown away and want to thank everyone who has taken the time to send something to us.

“We wanted to make sure everyone who submitted felt like they are part of the campaign even if they didn’t make the Mallee Strong video, that’s why we’re putting up a gallery on the website.”
